This long standing and leading International automotive and industrial manufacturing and engineering business is actively seeking to appoint an experienced Key Account Manager who can focuses directly on the automotive sector which accounts for 60% of the divisional turnover. Commutable from: Wolverhampton, Telford, Cannock, Walsall, Birmingham, Kidderminster, West Midlands Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 p.a Car Allowance, Bonus, Pension Benefits Suitable for: Key Account Manager, Sales Manager, Account Director, Sales Director, Business Development Manager The Role Working as a key part of the senior commercial team, reporting directly to the Divisional Commercial Director the Key Account Manager will be covering all aspects of the commercial interface with the company's largest automotive customers, while also targeting new customers in the automotive sector and beyond. The success of this position is key to the exciting 5 year plans for the business and offers a chance to be part of a company during this time and beyond. The role will involve; Manage key account relationships with senior managers and procurement teams, to protect and grow the business share of automotive sales at existing customers Provide regular updates on the competitive position at these customers, specifically identifying market share, what opportunities exist, and what requirements are needed to grow business in these accounts Create and win incremental sales opportunities at these and other automotive customers Ensure these accounts are visited at the required frequency and regular senior level reviews (ideally quarterly) are completed Provide forecast volumes to operational and financial teams Investigate and identify what opportunities exist for automotive sales in broader product ranges than currently supplied Identify and develop new target customers Maintain liaison with, technical, production, logistics, and quality teams to optimise commercial returns and customer service levels Provide local assistance in account management, including support to production and logistics and credit control The Person You will be capable of operating at senior management level and representing the business in Europe, UK & US, both within existing accounts and also developing new business relationships. Your focus will be finding new opportunities to continue to distance the business from the commodity market and add value and you will have a strong mix of the following skills and experience; Proven sales experience in generation of new business in the automotive engineering sector. Engineering or metallurgy background is desirable as would any experience of casting / forging manufacturing techniques and products Able to understand complex supply chains and present product capabilities, identifying opportunities to supply the businesses' product range. 5-10 years of experience in a customer facing sales / business development or key account role Able to understand and draft complex contracts including scientific, commercial and financial documents. Able to write and present papers and articles representing the business and its' capabilities. Able to travel in the UK and internationally.
